| | August 31, 2006 Airborne Geophysical Survey Completed on Thelon UNR Project
|
| | Vancouver, BC, August 31, 2006 - Uranium North Resources Corp. has been informed by its partner Bayswater Uranium Corporation (TSX-V: BAY) that the airborne electromagnetic (EM) survey on the Thelon UNR project has been completed. The Thelon UNR project (formerly referred to as the "Thelon Uranium Project") is approximately 1.3 million acres and located in the South Thelon Basin, Northwest Territories.
The survey consisted of a 7,289 line-kilometres of deep penetrating, electromagnetic (EM) and magnetic surveys utilizing Fugro Airborne Surveys' proprietary MEGATEM II system. The high-tech survey covered priority structures with coincident radioactive boulder fields identified by government and Bayswater geologists.
The objective of the survey is to identify basement conductors that maybe associated with high-grade unconformity-type uranium deposits. Priority conductors will be followed-up by ground exploration to determine drill targets. Data from the surveys is currently being processed and results will be announced when available. The Thelon UNR property hosts several prominent fault structures as well as numerous zones of radioactive sandstone boulders. The property is subject to an agreement with Uranium North Resources Corp. whereby Bayswater may earn an 80% interest in the uranium rights of the property.
Bayswater Uranium Corporation has an option to earn 80% interest in this project and is the project operator. Victor Tanaka, B.Sc. P.Geo. (B.C.), COO of Bayswater Uranium Corporation is the qualified persons under NI 43-101 responsible for the technical information in this news release.
